Sebastian River Buffer Preserve Ride
Come with us on Saturday, September 5th, Labor Day Weekend for a quickie ride through the Sebastian River Buffer Preserve. We'll come back out and head north to Micco Road, then east to US 1, then end it at The Tiki in Sebastian. Please be early as we leave at 6:30pm after the driver meeting.
Herlong Mansion B&B & Trails
The Herlong Mansion is supposed to be haunted — and Bob Gibson stayed there one night and "won't go back. Ever..." Head up there on a Friday for those that want to stay overnight — it's a 2:55 minute trip from Vero to Micanopy. Eat at the world famous Pearl Restaurant and stay Friday night. Come up for the day on Saturday if you're not coming up on Friday! We're talking to another club up that way about some trail action on Saturday. Lochloosa WMA is right there, and Goethe State Forest is only 38 minutes away southwest of Micanopy. Drive back home Saturday.
Camp & Crawl @ Ocala National Forest
The wait is over! Here's your first official look at the tentative itinerary for our Badge of Honor Camp & Crawl – Ocala Edition! This weekend is shaping up to be so much more than a trail ride—it's going to be a full-on Jeep adventure packed with great people, campfires, incredible trails, laughs, good food, and memories you'll be talking about long after the mud washes off. If you call Black Horse Ranch for camp reservations, tell them you're with FJTC and they'll put us together the best they can. Go to the FJTC Facebook page Events for ticket info.
Vero Beach Oktoberfest Show & Shine
On Saturday, October 17th, the FJTC will be participating in our first "Show & Shine" at the Vero Beach Oktoberfest! You and a friend will receive free admission bands for the whole weekend, with the show & shine being on Saturday. Clean them up and get ready to show her off.
Holopaw Day Trip
We’ll meet at the RaceTrac west of Sebastian on County Road 512 & I-95. We leave at 8:30am. Holopaw is northwest of Sebastian and takes an hour to get there. We’ll take I-95 north to 192 in Melbourne and head west to Holopaw Road (flashing light) to Holopaw Groves Road (the dirt road) to gate. FJTC members Josh and Brenda Pearl have a camp there that we can base out of. Thanks you two! This is a multi-club event in conjunction with Dirt Road Coalition (DRC).
Three Lakes WMA Ride
We will meet at the Pilot Travel Center in Yeehaw Junction by 8:45AM for the drivers meeting and leave promptly at 9:00AM.
This ride has a $3.00 per Jeep fee to enter Three Lakes WMA. Paul Skurnick will collect as he will have the permit for us to enter. Remain on Named/Numbered Trails. Only leave trail to bypass unpassable trail portions. Come and travel through the real old Florida's scrub pines and palmettos. After the ride, we'll have lunch at River Ranch.
From the Trail
Trip Reports
Stories from the trail — photos, notes, and highlights from past runs.
Summer Croom Blast
One of the best summer runs we've had in years. The recent rains made the water crossings absolutely epic — a few rigs needed a tug but everyone made it through with smiles. Post-run BBQ at the trailhead was a hit.
Ocala Springs Cruise
Perfect day for a cruise — overcast skies kept it cool and the forest roads were in great shape. We ended the day at Alexander Springs for a swim. Huge turnout with lots of new faces who are now regulars.
Rock Crusher Shakedown
Smaller group but big fun. The creek was running high which added some extra challenge to the lower crossings. Two rigs needed recovery — great practice for everyone. Already planning the next one.
