Trail-ready essentials

Equipment Guide

Know what to bring before the trailhead. These club guidelines help every Florida Jeep adventure stay safer, smoother, and more fun.

When trail riding off-road, here is a list of recommended, mandatory and required equipment you should have in and on your Jeep.

Recommended equipment

Helpful gear that prepares you for the unexpected on Florida trails.

  • Basic tool set

Include any odd-size tools required for your specific Jeep.

  • Tow strap

Carry a quality tow strap as part of your trail kit.

  • Spare tire

Confirm your spare is trail-ready before you leave home.

  • Appropriate jack

A stock jack is not always sufficient for oversized tires or a lifted Jeep.

  • Tire air-down and air-up tools

Bring the tools needed to adjust tire pressure for the trail and reinflate afterward.

Mandatory equipment

  • Recovery points — front and rear

Your Jeep must have properly rated recovery points at both the front and rear.

  • Full tank of gas

Arrive fueled up and ready for the full trail day.

  • First-aid kit

Keep a stocked first-aid kit in an easy-to-reach location.

  • Trash bag

Pack out everything you bring in and help keep Florida trails clean.

Keep a properly secured, accessible fire extinguisher in your Jeep.

  • Soft shackle or D-ring shackle

Bring compatible, rated connection hardware for your recovery gear.

  • GMRS radio

An external antenna will provide a better trail communication experience.
